If your new to the sport buying a used kart is a good option. Usually many spares and tools are included and perhaps even a trailer. The person selling may also offers some trackside assistance for the buyer. Used karts will have a logbook which lists how many events were entered plus any damage that may have occurred. The club should also know the history of what your buying, so please ask.
Your helmet must comply with Australian Standard1698. It must be full faced. It must not be scratched or damaged. Don’t skimp on the cost. Your driving suit must be made of either Cordulon or Cordura and/or full leather for both of the 250cc classes. Drivers boots must cover the ankles and gloves must be leather or meet racing standards.
The club usually runs six or seven race meetings during the months of February to November which form the Club Championship series. The club may also choose to run a separate State Championship and there is the opportunity to contest against the counties best at the National Festival. The club also arranges test and tune days which are great time to try that new set up or get advise from fellow competitors
Gates to the circuit usually open at 7 am. Karts are set up in garages, carports or next to your trailer. Drivers then sign in and receive their timing transponder. The Clerk of course will address all drivers and give a briefing about safety , track conditions and the format for the day. Your kart and safety equipment will be given a quick check by a scrutineer. From here it’s track time. We may have a practice session or a combined practice qualifying session. It is usual to have up to four heats of racing over the course of the day. At the end of the event we present trophies. Two day events, usually State or National Championship events are also held.

Visit one of our race days to gain a better understanding of the sport and various classes available to you, meet the team, talk with the various drivers. Everyone is happy to help. Attend one of our Monthly club meetings. The club will assist and advise you on buying a kart, getting a licence, buying your gear.
